Bangla Tigers are going to participate in the 5th season of first ever ICC approved ten-over cricket league ADT10, which is scheduled to be organized from 19th November to 4th December 2021. The franchise aims to pick some bigwig in the ADT10 season 05 from player’s draft that is expected to be held in next month and also retain few master class influential players from the existing squad. The ADT10 season 05 players draft will allow franchisees to retain 05 players from their current squads.
Bangla Tigers have announced the list of their retained players today. According to the franchisee owner Mr Mohammad Yasin Chowdhury, Bangla Tigers decided to retain Andre Fletcher, Jhonson Chariles, Qais Ahmed, Isuru Udana and Chirag Suri for the upcoming season.
Andre Fletcher, the right-handed batsman has demonstrated a consistent batting exhibition for the franchise during the last three seasons, smashing more than 612 runs in the last three seasons with strike rate of 199.0, which makes him one of the most destructive batsman in t10 format! Andrew Fletcher had a significant contribution to make Bangla Tigers as the 2nd runner up in the 3rd season of ADT10 held in 2019. Subsequently he is the auto choice of Bangla Tigers to be retained.
Bangla Tigers also retained Isuru Udana, one of the most talented players of the world with well-camouflaged and distinctly nippy left-arm slower cutters and additional skill of lower-order-hitting transforms him as a useful fast bowling all-rounder. Isuru Udana’s inclusion will definitely make Bangla Tigers as the most balanced team of the tournament.
Jhonson Charles, the dashing opener with a penchant for swatting the ball square either side of the wicket, was part of West Indies’ T20 World Cup winning teams in 2012 and 2016. Charles’ power-hitting came to the fore when he played a tremendous knock of 52 off 36 balls against India, setting up West Indies’ win over India in the World T20 semi-final in Mumbai in 2016. He is also very much effective in the 10 over format, this wicket keeping pinch hitter scored 233 with the strike rate of 182.00 in the last two seasons of ADT10.
The vice captain of United Arab Emirates Chirag Suri and Afgan bowler Mohammad Qais also retained for the upcoming season. Mohammad Qais played a significant role for being the 2nd runner-up in the 3rd season of ADT10 by taking 9 wickets with the economy of 9.15. Chirag Suri is one of the key players of the squad to accelerate the run rate at the middle.
Bangla Tigers Franchisee owner Mr Mohammad Yasin Chowdhury said, though cricket is the game of glorious uncertainty but I believe, such retained players will definitely glorify the entire tournament and also assist Bangla Tigers to scale on greater heights by conquering the title of the upcoming season.
