Saif Ahmed shares his experience in Bangla Tigers

At a very early age, Saif Ahmed Chowdhury has been very passionate about cricket and used to write about the game in his social media platforms, mainly on his personal facebook account. It was back in 2017, mainly after completing his higher secondary studies (HSC), Saif felt that it was the right time to turn his passion into a job and this is when he got the opportunity to join Bangladesh’s biggest cricket portal Bdcrictime.com as a journalist & content writer.

While there are many good cricket analysts all over the world including Bangladesh, Saif thought of doing something different. He does not analyse the game, but tries to interpret the emotions of the fans who are equally passionate about cricket. From this idea, Saif created his own facebook page named ‘Stories with Saif’ just before the 2019 ODI World Cup which has now turned into a brand on social media. It has now almost 150k followers and he has also recently collaborated with Bangladesh’s first sports channel named T Sports.

Saif doesn’t generate any revenue from his platform directly yet as he doesn’t make any videos, but through his platform, he has managed to connect with sports writers and people related to the cricket arena from all around the world. In 2020, he achieved the first step of something he always dreamt off. He received a proposal to become the social media manager of Bangla Tigers, a franchise who participates in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Since then, Saif didn’t take a step back. He has been working for Bangla Tigers since last two years and has participated in the 4th and 5th season of the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

After working solely as the social media manager in the 4th season, Saif worked both as a social media and media manager for the team in the 5th season of the tournament. He led the media team along with six other members and gained the experience to work alongside the tremendous cricketers like Faf du Plessis, Mohammad Amir, Andre Fletcher and many more. He was also set to work for a team in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in 2022, but the franchise pulled off from the tournament in the end. But Saif hopes to work with various teams in future as the social media manager and he wants to make a good use of the experience that he gathered working outside Bangladesh.

Saif believes in this modern era, there is a lot of room for improvement for Bangladesh when it comes to managing and creating sports content in social media. The time has come to become more ethical as journalist too. He didn’t promise that he can make the change, but he promised that he will work for it.
